Previous winter months have seen improvements to, the playpark, the bothy and general tree planting. Then last winter saw changes in layout with hundreds of laurel bushes being planted as future shelter breaks, more tress being planted to the north west of the site and the opening of a ‘nearly wild camping’ area. This area which is sheltered behind a large hill will be dedicated for 4x4 type vehicles looking for a slightly more out of the way peaceful spot while still being within walking distance of the toilet and shower facilities.
The playpark has some swings, a slide and a large climbing frame. This has proven very popular and is placed on the campsite beside the communal bothy allowing familys to play, bbq and relax, all close to each other. The new building, shelter (bothy) has saved many a drowned camper, brought families together over a game of cards and shared the sunset with shared BBQ’s on long summer nights. The bothy has a south facing terrace overlooking our nature pond and the surrounding hills. There is seating inside and I truly hope this can be a relaxing meeting point for fellow guests. Additional tree planting around the site that will provide shade and improve the beauty of the site overall is an ongoing project.
We look forward to welcoming you to our site.
